President Donald Trump reenforced the image of a chummy meeting with New York Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani in a series of images of the two posted to social media.
Trump posted four photos of the two men in various places in the White House including before a painting of New Deal creator President Franklin D. Roosevelt.
Supporters of the mayor-elect had feared a televised ambush at the high stakes Nov. 21 meeting between Trump and Mamdani. Instead, Trump freely praised Mamdani, and declined opportunities to criticize him in front of the cameras.
"I met with a man who is a very rational person," Trump said. "Who really wants to see New York be great again. I think he can bring it back. ... Will he bring it back greater than ever before? If he can, I'll be out there cheering for him."
