The process of transforming an abandoned rubbish dump into one of the most loved green spaces in Merseyside has been likened to a Peter Kay comedy. The comparison was made by the group which created the garden, as they described the ethos behind the project.

The Friends of Maghull & District (FOMD) formed in 2018 and are a small collection of local residents who care passionately about the environment. During its short time together, the group have been recognised nationally, and recently won the BBC One Show’s ‘Growing Together’ award for its Rowlands Dell health and wellness project.
