Consolidating its role as a major supplier to the country’s industrial explosives ecosystem, Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers and Chemicals (GNFC) has approved the long-awaited Ammonium Nitrate (AN) Melt-II project, adding 163,000 MTPA of new capacity — a 94 per cent expansion over its existing capacity.
Once commissioned around July 2027, GNFC’s total AN Melt availability will rise to 338,000 MTPA, nearly doubling its output in one of India’s most critical inputs for mining and infrastructure explosives.
