Saturday Kitchen host Matt Tebbutt was left visibly moved after the live BBC broadcast took an unexpected turn

Saturday Kitchen presenter Matt Tebbutt was moved to tears by an unexpected surprise that unfolded live during the show.

The BBC host welcomed celebrity guest Tom Allen, chefs Imad Alarnab and Ravinder Bhogal, plus wine specialist Helen McGinn on Saturday's programme (November 22).

Imad, who previously operated three eateries in Damascus before having to flee overnight, shared his journey whilst preparing dishes with Matt.

"My restaurants been bombed in 2013 over six days [sic]. I built them over years, and then they've been bombed within no time, but here we are living our life again in the UK," he shared.
