A man was seriously injured after a car he was driving hit a parked vehicle then flipped over, police have said.

The driver - aged 60 - was said by police on Saturday to remain in hospital in a 'critical but stable condition'.

Greater Manchester Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) has issued an appeal for anyone with information or witnesses to come forward.

Emergency services were called to Rochdale Road East in Heywood , Rochdale, at around 5.40pm on Thursday (November 20).

In a statement issued on Saturday, GMP said: "One vehicle was seen driving towards Heywood on Rochdale Road East, where the driver then collided with a parked vehicle and overturned.
