Chandigarh, November 22, 2025: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Friday strongly opposed the Centre’s reported move to introduce the Constitution (131st Amendment) Bill in the upcoming winter session of Parliament, asserting that the proposed legislation was “against the interests of Punjab” and part of a “deliberate conspiracy” to undermine the state’s rights.

In a sharp statement, the Chief Minister said the people of Punjab would never allow such an attempt to succeed. “We strongly oppose the proposed 131st Amendment Bill. This amendment goes directly against Punjab’s interests. We will not let any conspiracy being crafted against Punjab by the Centre succeed,”
