Assam Food, Public Distribution & Consumer Affairs, Mines and Minerals Minister Kaushik Roy on November 22 inspected the ongoing construction of the Silchar–Saurashtra East-West Corridor along the Harangajao–Jatinga stretch of National Highway 27 and reviewed the progress of work.

During the inspection, the minister held discussions with officials of the National Highways Authority of India on development and maintenance activities.

A review meeting was later convened at the Haflong Circuit House, where issues related to road connectivity, infrastructure upgrades and public convenience were discussed in detail. Roy emphasised the importance of completing the project within the stipulated timeline to ensure smooth and safe travel for commuters.
