There could be 'one or more spells of snow' days before Christmas , the Met Office has said.
A wintry chill has spread across the UK in recent days, with the mercury dropping as we progress through autumn.
Experts at the Met Office are now predicting 'an increased risk of frost and fog' before colder spells hit Britain next month.
While wind and rain are possible, they are expected to be 'less frequent than usual at first'.
But colder conditions will move in, with snow possible.

In its long-range forecast for Wednesday, November 26, to Friday, December 5, the Met Office said: "After a settled start across much of England, it will be quickly turning unsettled across Scotland, Wales
