Sainsbury’s shoppers are being urged to spend £2 extra at checkouts this winter to help those experiencing food poverty.

The supermarket chain is donating more than five million meals in partnership with Comic Relief as part of efforts to give struggling families access to good food this Christmas . There are several ways Sainsbury’s shoppers can support the cause in stores, including making a £2 donation to Comic Relief at checkouts as part of their regular food shop. Customers can make a donation either by adding a set amount to their basket at checkouts, or by donating their Nectar points to Comic Relief through the Nectar app or website.
