An East Lothian motorist has been left hundreds out of pocket after she claimed a monster pothole burst her tyre.

Erin MacDonald, from Port Seton, was driving along Edinburgh Road at around 7pm on Thursday November 20 when she hit the pothole.

She was forced to crawl home in her mini along what she alleges was a ‘poorly lit road.’ After logging onto East Lothian Council’s system to report the issue, she found two motorists had previously complained about the problem.

Images shared with Edinburgh Live show two other motorists had notified the council of the pothole prior to Erin’s car being damaged.

“It’s left me very frustrated,” she said. “I just had both front tyres replaced two months ago.
