Plans have been lodged add 34 homes to a major Hartlepool housing development. Last year an application by housebuilder Persimmon was approved for the South West Extension development which will see 1,260 homes built on land between the A689 and Brierton Lane.

The proposals also feature the creation of a local centre including a primary school, medical centre and restaurant. This was followed by a further approval in December to construct the first 316 properties which will form "phase one" of the sprawling site.

Similar proposals have now been submitted to Hartlepool Council's planners by the housebuilder to bring forward a further 34 homes for construction as part of the wider scheme. The properties will be located on around 1.6acres of agricultural land and would form part of the "f
