A mum instantly knew something was wrong when she was unable to make a cup of tea. Mandy Dodd, 68, from Chester , had been taking her horse to a show in August 2024 when she complained of a headache and was suddenly unable to get her words out.
The next morning, things got worse and she was unable to use her phone or make a cup of tea. After speaking to her daughter Amy, 41, who has a medical background, they both knew something was "seriously" wrong.
Mandy said: "It reminded me of when you’ve got a massive hangover. That horrible, sicky feeling when you can’t focus properly."
Her daughter said: "My stomach just dropped because straight away I thought it was her brain and she’d had a stroke."
