Two woman assistant Booth Level Officers (BLOs) died of heart attack in Gujarat, sparking further concerns on the stress being faced by those deployed on duty for the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in the state.

In the first incident, a 56-year-old government school principal working as assistant BLO reportedly died of heart attack in Tapi district on Thursday night. The deceased has been identified as Kalpanaben Patel, who was engaged in the SIR work in Beldha village.

Patel, a resident of Madhi village in Bardoli taluka of Surat district, was working as the principal of a government primary school in Beldha village (Tapi district) which is around 10-15 kms from her home.
