LINCOLN, Neb. (WOWT) - On this day in 1983, the bright lights of Hollywood came to Lincoln.

A premiere event for the film “ Terms of Endearment ” was held at the Stuart Theatre in the state’s capitol city.

The movie was partially set in Nebraska and included scenes shot at Lincoln General Hospital and many other locations around the city. Many Lincoln General Hospital staff were also involved in the production.

The film, which earned 11 Oscar nominations, took home five awards, including Best Picture.
