A jockey has dedicated a winner to his much-loved weighing room colleague Tommie Jakes. David Egan paid tribute after riding at Southwell on Friday, a meeting he competed at after going to his friend's funeral.
More than 400 people were at St Mary's Church in Newmarket to pay their respects to Jakes, who died last month aged 19. Egan was in the congregation with his dad John and many other jockeys, including Ryan Moore and William Buick.
