A physically challenged farmer, Bagudam Narasimhulu, died in Podichenpally while burning paddy stubble. Unable to escape the rapidly spreading fire, he was trapped despite his wife Sulochana’s cries for help and nearby farmers’ attempts to rescue him
Medak: A physically challenged farmer was burnt alive while burning paddy stubble in his field at Podichenpally in Papannapet mandal.
According to the police, Bagudam Narasimhulu (47) had gone to burn the residue in his paddy field along with his wife Sulochana on Saturday evening.
As he was unable to move quickly, Narasimhulu could not escape after the fire spread and trapped him. Though Sulochana shouted for help and alerted farmers working in nearby fields, he succumbed before they could reach the spot.
