A 20-year-old man died and two others were hospitalised on Saturday after inhaling toxic fumes caused by a chemical leak in the Andheri MIDC area of Mumbai, officials confirmed. The incident occurred around 4:55 pm inside a two-storey structure in Bhangarwadi, located within the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) zone.
According to officials, the cause of the leak is still under investigation. The condition of the three individuals present at the site deteriorated rapidly after exposure to the fumes.
Emergency teams from the Mumbai Fire Brigade reached the location soon after receiving the alert. All three victims were rushed to Holy Spirit Hospital, where Ahmad Hussain, aged 20, was declared dead on arrival.
