Multiple people were reportedly injured in a stabbing at UAB's Football Operations Center on Saturday, including two football players.

According to UAB, the lone suspect is in custody, and there is no threat to those on campus.

“UAB Police and Public Safety is investigating an assault that took place this morning at the Football Operations Center," the university said in a statement. "Injuries are believed to be non-life threatening. The suspect is in custody, and there is no threat to campus."

According to authorities, two football players suffered stab wounds. Sources tell 1819 News that the suspect was also a member of the football team.

UAB football is set to kick off at Protective Stadium at 2 p.m. against the USF Bulls.
