CHICAGO (WLS) -- Thanksgiving is just around the corner, and a local food rescue organization is ramping up its efforts to knock out hunger.
Fight2Feed is a local nonprofit in Chicago that saves unused, uncooked and prepared foods from being discarded at restaurants, grocery stores, and major conventions in the city, to feed more hungry people. They are 100 percent volunteer-driven, distributing prepared meals from their HQ to community partners all over Chicago and in three other counties in Chicagoland including Will, DuPage and Lake County. Those partners include other nonprofits that provide food, shelter and resources to the unhoused, under-resourced and immigrant communities.
