WASHINGTON — Tatiana Schlossberg, the daughter of Caroline Kennedy and granddaughter of former president John F. Kennedy, has revealed she has terminal cancer.
In an essay published in The New Yorker, the 35-year-old wrote that she was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia shortly after giving birth to her second child in May 2024. She said doctors discovered the disease when routine postpartum bloodwork showed her white blood cell count was more than ten times higher than normal.
“A normal white-blood-cell count is around four to eleven thousand cells per microliter,” she wrote. “Mine was a hundred and thirty-one thousand.” After further testing, she was diagnosed with a rare mutation known as Inversion 3.
