NEW YORK CITY, New York — Tatiana Schlossberg, the 35-year-old daughter of Caroline Kennedy and Edwin Schlossberg, publicly disclosed that she has been diagnosed with a terminal form of leukemia, writing that her doctors have given her about a year to live, People reported .
In an essay published Saturday in The New Yorker , Schlossberg said she first learned of the disease hours after giving birth to her second child in May 2024 when doctors found her white-blood-cell count at 131,000, far above the normal range.
Further testing revealed the type of blood cancer was acute myeloid leukemia (AML) with a rare genetic mutation known as Inversion 3, typically seen in older patients. That mutation, she wrote, meant standard treatments could not guarantee a cure, she said in her essay.
