SEATTLE — Washington drivers will encounter lane reductions and closures on Interstate 5, as well as at the Interstate 405 and state Route 522 interchange this weekend. The work comes as millions prepare to hit the roads for Thanksgiving travel.

In Seattle, southbound I-5 across the Ship Canal Bridge will be reduced to two lanes all weekend, until 5 a.m. Monday, Nov. 24. It marks the fourth weekend-long reduction as crews replace bridge drains.

The express lanes will remain open southbound-only during the closure. One final weekend of similar work is scheduled Dec. 5-8.
