Fifteen people injured last year when a police officer lost control of his motorcycle have sued the City of Palm Springs, its police department, the officer and others involved, according to a law firm.
The collision happened during the Festival of Lights Parade on Dec. 7, 2024 , when Officer Ken Merenda lost control of his motorcycle as he attempted to lift his front tire off the ground in a "wheelie," what the department later determined was an unsanctioned maneuver.
