The interim head coach for the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) football team spoke after the game about two players who were stabbed on campus by another player on Saturday.
The team had chosen to still play the game. Some members did choose to sit out.
"We spoke as a team and those guys really wanted to play today. And really, the conversation went back to the seniors. With it being senior day, they wanted to play for them and give them an opportunity to go out and play," interim head coach Alex Mortensen said.

Two people were stabbed, according to Birmingham Fire and Rescue, which responded to the scene. Their injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.
