Virgin Media O2 is joining forces with Elon Musk's Starlink to deliver enhanced UK rural mobile coverage. Virgin Media O2 has revealed a collaboration with Elon Musk's satellite firm designed to strengthen rural mobile network provision across the UK.

Virgin Media O2 and Starlink Direct to Cell have struck a multi-year deal that's poised to enhance the operator's mobile reach through Starlink satellite technology. The fresh offering, to be branded O2 Satellite, will initially provide messaging and data capabilities, with additional enhancements planned, ensuring customers feel secure and confident when in isolated locations.
