Days after the 142nd anniversary of President Abraham Lincoln’s most famous speech, community members gathered Saturday, Nov. 22, outside the Lincoln Memorial Shrine in Redlands to hear his words said aloud.
The shrine’s annual re-enactment of the Gettysburg address , delivered by Lincoln at a cemetery dedication in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania on Nov. 19, 1863 at the height of the Civil War, shines a light on the 16th president’s enduring message of liberty, equality and unity.
After reading the address, Lincoln presenter Robert Broski greeted community members and posed for photos.
