A Cherokee County jury has convicted a man of domestic violence charges in an assault on a woman last year that included strangling her in a headlock.
On Nov. 19, the jury found Sergio Antonio Esquivel, 42, of Holly Springs, guilty of family violence aggravated assault and false imprisonment following a two-day trial, the Cherokee County District Attorney’s Office announced.
He was found not guilty of two additional charges: kidnapping with bodily injury and family violence battery, according to court documents.
