CORNING, Ark. (KAIT) - Corning police said they arrested a Puxico man after finding fentanyl, marijuana, and a firearm during a traffic stop Friday.
Corning Police Chief Blaine McClung said an officer conducted a traffic stop with Joel Bannister on South Missouri Avenue on Friday, Nov. 21. The responding officer said he smelled marijuana when he walked to the vehicle.
“A subsequent search of the vehicle yielded a crystal substance that tested positive for fentanyl, a quantity of marijuana, and a firearm,” McClung said.
McClung said police arrested 23-year-old Bannister and took him to the Clay County Detention Center.
McClung said Bannister is charged with possession of fentanyl, a Class C felony; simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, a Class Y felony; possession of a Schedule
