The Northland Preparatory Academy girls basketball team dropped its season opener to the Rancho Solano Prep Mustangs, 59-21, as they attempted to crawl back from start to finish.

From the tip-off, Rancho Solano set the tone with its physicality. Their first possession lasted over a minute, with the Mustangs recording three offensive rebounds before finding a cutting player through the paint to score the first two points of the game.
