WILKES-BARRE — Luzerne County’s biggest holiday celebration of the year rolled down Main Street on Saturday afternoon. Hundreds of community members and their families gathered to watch and participate in the city’s Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting Ceremony.
Mayor George Brown brought his own family along for the walk down Main Street, which was lined with hundreds of spectators.
“We really look forward to this every year, this wonderful parade,” he said.
The parade ended on Public Square, but the fun wasn’t over yet. The Christmas lights surrounding the big tree on the square were officially brought to life on Saturday, and the skating rink nearby was opened.
