MUMBAI: A Kandivli couple's joy at having twins after IVF treatment was tinged with sadness as their boys were diagnosed with drug-resistant tuberculosis (TB) during Diwali when they were barely a month old. Their case points to a worrisome pattern of drug-resistant TB in infants. The state-run JJ Hospital's NICU, where the twins—possibly the youngest in the state—have been admitted since October 29, has seen multiple such cases.
