SUMTER, S.C. — A man has been flown to an area hospital after being shot in Sumter on Saturday afternoon, officials say.
The Sumter Police Department said they are investigating after a call that was initially thought to be in the county but later determined to be in the city.
Police said they are still working to determine exactly where the shooting occurred, but confirmed that the initial call came in around 2:30 p.m. and the victim, a 36-year-old man, was taken by helicopter to a hospital in Florence. The victim's condition and the circumstances of the shooting were not yet available.
