ROCHESTER HILLS – Reaching the top 16 medals stand at the girls swim and dive finals is at the very least the goal of many swimmers across the state.

A total of four Macomb County seniors and eight total competitors from the county achieved that same status at Friday’s MHSAA Division 1 state finals at Oakland University.

Four schools also cracked the scoring column at the two-day event held Nov. 20-21 – moved up a day due to construction on campus – to end a successful campaign.

Romeo led Macomb County schools by finishing 19th in the team standings with 31 points. Utica Eisenhower, which was the Macomb County meet champion earlier this year, placed 34th with eight points, while Sterling Heights Stevenson was 35th (seven points) and Clinton
