A landslide of scoring in the second quarter led the way for Adrian, as the Antelopes blew ahead of Union for a 56-14 victory in the semifinals of the Class 1A (8-player) state championship game on Saturday afternoon at Baker High School.

This marks the fourth time Adrian will be playing in the Class 1A state championship football game in the last six years. The Antelopes have won every trip to the title game in team history.

The two teams traded scores in the opening minutes of Saturday’s game. Kash Morford then broke off a long run for a touchdown that started a big shift in the momentum.

Weston Bayes picked off Union quarterback Dawson Miller and returned the ball for a touchdown to make it a 28-6 lead for the Antelopes.
