Drake Jones came out on top in the most hotly contested Monroe County Region Athlete of the Week vote of the season.

The Jefferson running back amassed 26,014 votes to win the Nov. 10-16 poll.

He needed most of them as Dundee swimmer Lillian Ratliff finished with 21,174.

There were a total of 58,892 votes cast with St. Mary Catholic Central volleyball player Madeline Dettling (6,117), Monroe swimmer Abby Dieckmann (4,049) and Ida football player Dylan Jarrett (1,181) all well over 1,000.

The Nov. 17-23 poll is now open. You can vote until 11:59 p.m. Wednesday.
