Komets goaltender Connor Ungar had 31 saves in his first game with the team this season in a 3-1 win over the Kalamazoo Wings on Saturday at Memorial Coliseum.
Ungar faced 13 shots in his first period, including a one-on-one with Wings forward Jack Jaunich that Ungar won with a toe save.
The Komets once again managed tons of shots on net early, following up 21 first-period shots against Bloomington on Friday with 20 on Wings goaltender Luke Pavicich.
Pavicich managed to turn away every one of them, with forward Josh Groll having the best opportunity early when a wrist shot hit the post.
The second period started with Komets forward Nico Blachman and Wings forward Spencer Kennedy fighting at center ice, ending with a takedown by Blachman and him hyping up the crowd at Memorial Coliseum.
