COLUMBUS, Ohio — As Max Klare and the Ohio State offense celebrated its third touchdown of the day at Ohio Stadium, Greg Schiano pleaded his case to a nearby official.
The Rutgers head coach argued that the play should be negated by a penalty, that the pick play should be flagged for offensive pass interference. Schiano’s demonstrative display fell on deaf ears, though, as the score stood and gave the Buckeyes a 21-3 lead midway through the third quarter en route to a 42-9 victory.
“That play, you judge for yourself," Schiano said following the game. “I’m not real happy with that play.”
It was not the only decision the coach disagreed with on a day in which the Scarlet Knights (5-6, 2-6) repeatedly hurt themselves with penalties.
Their defense was flagged three times, with No.
