The Henley football team will make a third consecutive trip to the Class 4A state championship game after downing Big Sky Conference rival Marshfield 26-14 on Saturday evening in Grants Pass.
The Hornets (9-2) followed up a 21-6 regular-season victory over the Pirates during conference play with a thorough performance in the rematch to earn a spot in next Saturday’s final against Cascade (12-0).
Henley ended a 41-year title drought in 2023 by defeating Marist Catholic 42-23. The Spartans got their revenge last year, beating the Hornets 30-6.
“Just great senior leaders,” said Henley coach Matt Green. “We knew with Marshfield being such a well-coached, physical team that we would have to match their physicality. It was about being physical and finishing drives.”
