A prominent Michigan lobbyist organized an engagement party in downtown Lansing this month for two state lawmakers who are getting married, raising questions about whether state ethics laws were followed at the event.

Melissa McKinley , who's president of the multi-client lobbying firm Kelley Cawthorne , sent out invitations to some lawmakers and lobbyists for a "celebration" of the engagement of Reps. Pauline Wendzel , R-Watervliet, and Greg VanWoerkom , R-Norton Shores, according to documents obtained by The Detroit News.
