Patriots at Bengals picks and predictions

Prediction

Patriots 34, Bengals 20

Moneyline

PASS.

All the momentum rides with the Patriots (-375) and I'll ride that into a wager on the spread in this one.

Against the spread

BET PATRIOTS -7.5 (-110).

I’m honestly surprised this line isn’t higher, because I don’t see many reasons to trust Cincinnati right now. The Bengals look completely out of sync, especially on defense, and now they’re missing WR Ja’Marr Chase on top of it. That’s a brutal spot for an offense that already hasn’t been clicking consistently. It doesn’t help that Cincinnati has failed to cover in its last 3 games either — the trend is clearly moving the wrong way.

Meanwhile, the Patriots are trending up in a big way. They’ve covered 6 of their last 8, and it shows on the field. Maye has been legit, and the addition of WR Stefon Diggs has given this offense a different level of pop. Pair that with a strong run game from Henderson and Rhamondre Stevenson, and suddenly New England has balance, rhythm and confidence — 3 things the Bengals clearly don’t.

What really stands out to me is how opposite these teams feel right now. The Patriots look like a group that believes in what it’s doing. The Bengals look frustrated, banged up, and unsure of themselves. That usually shows up on Sunday.

New England has been rock solid on the road too, and I expect them to keep riding this momentum.

Over/Under

BET OVER 50 (-110).

These teams have gone Over in 4 of their last 5 meetings, and both sides have been cashing Overs lately. Cincinnati has turned 5 of its last 6 into high-scoring games, and New England is doing its part too. With the Bengals giving up over 33 points per game and the Patriots scoring at a top-10 rate, I just see too many points being put up to stay under. I’m riding the Over.
