Congratulations are in order!

It’s the three-year anniversary of The Cobbler, the fabulous speakeasy in North Wilkes-Barre that locals (and even some travelers making their way through Wilkes-Barre) have been enjoying since November 2022.

I remember the day it opened.

It was cool to pull up to a place with no sign, no noticeable lights, and wonder what was inside 636 N. Main Street.

When I walked in, after punching in the “secret code” as expected, I marveled at the brand-new woodwork, state-of-the-art bar, lounge area, and relaxing lighting. It felt like I was in a New York City underground lounge or backroom bar.

Owner Rick Simon and his staff have done a great job of not giving in to the abundance of ever-present marketing tactics in society.
