LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - A man is dead after an officer-involved shooting in the Southside neighborhood, according to Louisville Metro Police.
Fourth Division officers responded to a call at around 9:55 p.m. of a robbery in the 100 block of East Southland Boulevard on Saturday, Nov. 22.
The caller told police that they were robbed at gunpoint and gave a description of the suspect.
LMPD says officers found a man near the scene of the robbery and attempted to make contact with them, prompting the suspect to flee while taking out a handgun.
The two officers then fired at the suspect. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
LMPD says that body camera footage of the incident will be released within 10 business days, and the names of the involved officers will be released within 72 hours.
