The Kelowna Rockets stop the Portland Winterhawks’ 4-game winning streak with a 2-1 victory on their Teddy Bear Toss night.
The Teddy Bear goal by Tomas Poletin came early in the 1st to give them the lead that they never relinquished. Mazden Leslie, playing his 300th regular season game, made it 2-0. When it got close in the 3rd, goalie Harrison Boettiger came up big, and led the way with 30 saves on 31 shots.
Positives for the Winterhawks were Ryan Miller extending his league-best point streak to 17 games, and Cole Slobodian scoring his first goal of the season.
