Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) founder and actor-politician Vijay resumed his political campaign on Sunday, addressing party workers and supporters at an indoor event in Tamil Nadu’s Kancheepuram district.
This was his first major public interaction since the tragic stampede at a Karur rally on September 27, which claimed 41 lives.
Around 2,000 people were allowed into the venue through QR-coded passes, with tight security arrangements in place.
TVK workers dressed in yellow, trained by retired police officers, were deployed to manage the crowd. Tin sheets were installed at strategic points to prevent unauthorised entry.
