John Mara is the one who said enough is enough and pulled the plug on the Brian Daboll charade.
Now it is time for the revered franchise steward to save his organization by finishing the job and turning over Joe Schoen’s GM seat, too.
Less than two weeks out from Daboll’s firing, with Schoen still holding the puppet strings, the national discourse already is shifting to conversations about the Giants having some good pieces on their roster.
They just need a good coach, the narrative goes. They’re better than their record. They found the quarterback. With the right coach, it will all fall into place.
This lowering of standards and manipulation of the Giants ‘ reality and expectations, however, cannot and should not fly.
