More than 100 households and businesses in Gloucestershire have been hit by a power cut this afternoon.

The National Grid said engineers are working to restore power to homes and workplaces after they were cut off at about noon.

The power is not expected to be restored until about 6.30pm and affects people living in the postcodes GL2 2FN, GL2 2GP, GL2 2SA, GL2 2SD, GL2 2SF, GL2 4SA, GL2 5GP.

These are all areas in Gloucester, with 117 properties having no electricity.

A National Grid spokesperson said: “We became aware of this power cut at 12:01pm this afternoon and immediately began work to restore supply.
