DETROIT - The New York Giants will take the field inside Ford Field without the one player an entire franchise wants to see. Well, Jaxson Dart will be on the sideline, but don't expect the FOX cameras to stay on him the entire game between the 2-9 Giants and the Super Bowl hopeful Lions .
(That might make for an interesting alternate broadcast - just saying!)
So that means it will again be Jameis Winston at quarterback against Dan Campbell's Lions, who were beaten by the Eagles last Sunday night in a "show us something" showcase between a pair of NFC contenders. The Giants (2-9), losers of five straight games and a franchise-worst 11-game road losing streak dating back to last season, find themselves as double-digit underdogs against a wounded perceived heavyweight ready to roar.
