US President Donald Trump said on Sunday that Ukraine’s leaders have shown “zero gratitude” for American support in the war with Russia, using a detailed post on his Truth Social account to repeat his long-held view that the conflict should never have begun.
Trump said the war “is a violent one that, with strong and proper US and Ukrainian leadership, would have never happened.” He argued that the conflict started “during the Joe Biden administration” and claimed it worsened after he left office following what he again described as a “rigged and stolen” 2020 election.
