Abdullah Mason became the youngest active male world champion on Saturday, Nov. 22, beating Sam Noakes by unanimous decision to win the vacant WBO lightweight title in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Mason, 21, who had previously never been past the sixth round, won on all three judges' scorecards. The 12-round fight was scored 117–111, 115–113 and 115–113 for Mason.

"I am now boxing’s youngest active world champion," Mason said after the fight . "We got the win, but it was a tough fight. We’re on to the next."

The victory caps a rapid rise for the Bedford-born Mason, who improved to 20–0 with 17 knockouts. Mason's first professional fight came in 2021. This year he's fought four times already.
