Oregon's Dan Lanning swipes at SEC while promoting Ducks' Playoff chances
Dan Lanning didn’t wait long after Oregon’s 42-27 win over USC on Saturday to make his case to the College Football Playoff committee. He did so while taking at shot at the SEC.
“We didn’t play Chattanooga State today, right? Like some other places,” Lanning said via ESPN , referencing SEC programs that schedule late non-conference opponents. “It’s tough playing nine conference games. It’s tough playing in this league.”
The No. 6 Ducks (10-1) remained behind fellow one-loss teams Georgia, Texas Tech and Ole Miss in last Tuesday’s CFP rankings despite back-to-back wins over then-No. 21 Iowa and USC. Oregon has been scrutinized with its best victories coming on the road in overtime at Penn
